Georgian Canoeist Aleksandre Tsivtsivadze wins European Championship

Georgian canoeist Aleksandre Tsivtsivadze has won the 2021 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships in Poznan, Poland.

Aleksandre Tsivtsivadze is 17 year-old, from Rustavi and became the first Georgian canoeist who has won the 1000m world title. 

Tsivtsivadze had no equal at a distance of 1000 meters in class C1. The winner’s result was 4 minutes 1 second and 093 thousandths of a second. The Georgian athlete was 1.420 seconds ahead of the second place Russian Maxim Karataev. The bronze medalist of the competition was Jonas Boettinger from Germany.

The 2021 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships took place in Poznan, Poland on June 24-27.
