Georgia to Declare National Emergency Until April 21

Georgian Government to declare a state of emergency as part of a series of measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

“Our main task today is preventing a fast spread of coronavirus among the population. Sanctions will be applied for breaching the quarantine and self-isolation regulations during the state of emergency, and restrictions on traffic, except cargo, will be imposed,” Giorgi Gakharia said.

Individuals and legal entities’ right to property may be restricted during the state of emergency, he said.
