Georgia is Presented at Bologna Children's Book Fair
Organized by the Writers’ House and Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association Georgia will present a national stand and program at the Bologna Book Fair on March 6-9.
7 Georgian publishers will participate in the Bologna book fair. Among them are publishing houses Elfi, Diogene, Intelekti, Artanuji, Sulakauri Publishing, Publishing House “Shemetsneba”, Palitra L. Together with the books published by Georgian publishers, the stand will display Georgian literature translated into different languages with the support of the Writers’ House and catalogs about Georgian authors and publishers operating in Georgia.
Illustrator Tatia Nadareishvili will conduct workshops for the visitors of the fair at the national stand of Georgia for three days.
Children's literature in Georgia needs special encouragement and support, and the Bologna Children's Book Fair and the resulting connections are the best way to do so. This will be another, most important platform for Georgia, from which both the Italian and the international community will get to know Georgian children's literature.
The Bologna Children's Book Fair has been running since 1963 and is the leading international platform for children's literature. The laureates of the main children's literary awards, the Hans Christian Andersen and Astrid Lindgren awards, will be announced at the Bologna fair. Giorgi Jincharadze, Irma Malatsidze and Nikozi Art School have been nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Award from Georgia this year.
