Georgia Has New Ambassador to Ukraine

Georgia has a new ambassador to Ukraine.

Giorgi Zakarashvili was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine on October 1st, 2021. He has been Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia since 2019.

The former ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine, Teimuraz Sharashenidze will continue his work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

Giorgi Zakarashvili was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Georgian Interests Section at the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in Russia in 2016-2019. In 2007-2011 he was appointed a Senior Advisor there.

During the years 2011 and 2012, he held the position of Head of the Central Asian Relations Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

Giorgi Zakarashvili has a working experience in the Global Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia in 2007.

Giorgi Zakarashvili has also been actively involved in the CIS and Peaceful Caucasus Affairs State Bureau. He also worked at Tbilisi City Hall.
