Georgia Engaged in COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access Facility

As a deputy of the Ministry of Healthcare, Tamar Gabunia declared, Georgia has submitted expressions of interest to covax facility and joined the rest of the countries.

According to her, the country already started working to make the vaccine available to our population.

"Global institution is established with a global vaccine alliance which is now called the Covax facility. The country can receive the vaccine through it as soon as it is ready.

Georgia submitted expressions of interest and joined a number of emerging countries. There is a financial resource available for us to receive. As for the amount of the vaccine, in the first stage, it will be available for 20% of the population because of high demand. If we get the vaccine from January, at the beginning of 2021, it will be a good way for immunity to be developed and for coronavirus not to be spread widely."
