Georgia and Cyprus to Create Joint Marine Committee
Georgia and Cyprus will create Joint Marine Committee. The parties have already discussed the matters of deepening cooperation between Georgia and Cyprus in the maritime field.
The head of Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia, Tamar Ioseliani, together with the Shipping Deputy Minister of Cyprus, Vassilios Demetriades, discussed the matters of experience gained throughout the pandemic crisis. According to the Ministry of Economy, the meeting also marked out the positive results achieved by Georgia in the field of rotation and vaccination of Georgian sailors.
Within the frameworks of the visit, head of Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia also met with members of Cyprus' Chamber of Shipping and one of the largest employees of Georgian sailors, Columbia Ship Management.
Georgian party expressed interest in sharing Cyprus' experience in establishing a maritime cluster and is considering deepening relations in the field of maritime education, research and innovation.
