First Victory of Georgian National Water Polo Team at the Olympics Licensing Tournament

Georgian national water polo team held the second match in the group at the qualification stage of the Tokyo Olympic Games in Rotterdam and defeated the Canadian team 14:11 (1: 3, 2: 3, 4: 4, 4: 4).

In the first - second period of the match, the advantage of Georgia was obvious, which was reflected in the result. In the remaining two quarters, Canada improved the quality of the game, however, in a number of episodes they were quite rude. Nevertheless, the Georgian team deservedly won the match and the team took another big step towards the main goal.

It is noteworthy that the Georgian national water polo team faced the Canadian national team for the first time in history. At this stage, the Georgian team is in the third place in Group A after the Montenegrin and Greek teams. Our team will play the next match in the qualifying round of the Summer Olympics in Rotterdam today, February 17, against the Brazilian team. The match will be held at 20:30 Tbilisi time.
