Event on Protection of Rights of Persons with Disabilities to Hold Supported by Socar
Organized by the Youth Media Connections and supported by the company Socar, within the frameworks of "Active Life is My Passion", a diverse event was held, which is related to the 14 June – Day for the Protection of the Rights of Disabled People.
Soldiers wounded in peacekeeping missions, war veterans, and people with disabilities attended the event.
A tournament with the participation of wheelchair users, a mini-festival of sports dances, and an integrated bicycle marathon were the main highlights of the event.
Governmental and non-governmental organizations summarized the ongoing processes in this field during this year. At the end of the day, a concert was held with the participation of people with disabilities and celebrities.
The project "Active Life is My Passion" promotes the implementation of the 30th article of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The project aims to encourage the enactment of the convention on the scale of Georgia and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of the human rights of persons with disabilities.
