Carl Hartzell: I Support Discussing Legal Employment of Georgian Citizens in Europe

Legal employment of Georgian citizens in EU countries is likely to remove the problems we face in the process of visa liberalization, EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell said.

As he said in response to questions on social media, employment of Georgian citizens in Europe will be a positive event and he will support the discussion of this opportunity.

"There are certain employment opportunities for the citizens of Georgia in certain EU member states, however, I will not be able to talk about how fast and how this process will develop.

I know that the government and the president are talking intensively with European partners on this issue. In principle, I support all of this because I believe that such opportunities will help generate additional revenue, share knowledge and experience, build relationships between people, and create legitimate employment opportunities that are likely to address some of the problems we face in the visa liberalization mechanism.

For these reasons, I believe that employment for Georgian citizens in Europe will be a positive development and I will support the discussion after this opportunity, ”said Carl Hartzell.
