Bestselling Author Rupi Kaur to Visit Georgia within the Framework of "Tbilisi - World Book Capital 2021"
Indian-born Canadian author Rupi Kaur will visit Georgia within the framework of "Tbilisi - World Book Capital 2021".
She received widespread popularity, after the publication of her debut book Milk and Honey (2014), which went on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide and spent more than a year on The New York Times Best Seller list.
Her work explores relationships, the immigrant experience, and sexual trauma and is considered to be at the forefront of Instapoetry.
As Ninia Macharashvili said it in the program of Imedi, her work is well known in Georgia, and now are currently choosing what will be the best time for her visit.
According to the decision of UNESCO, Tbilisi will receive the status of World Book Capital on April 23, 2021, from Kuala Lumpur. Within the framework of the project, more than 100 educational, cognitive, infrastructural, mass and children's projects are planned to be implemented during one year.
UNESCO World Book Capital is a large-scale project established in 2002 by the decision of the General Conference of UNESCO. It aims to promote books and reading, the book industry and all related fields, contemporary authors, translators, libraries and publishers.
