Animated Film Based on Rezo Gabriadze's Novel in the List of Oscar

The animated film based on Rezo Gabriadze's novels "Hari-Harale, Dedao!" is in the list of 32 Animated Features Submitted for 2019 Oscar Race among Frozen II, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Missing Link, and others. 

Rezo is a movie told and painted by Rezo Gabriadze, Georgian artist, writer and creator of Marionette theatre. The movie is an autobiographical animated documentary questioning ideas of deep humanity, kindness and heartiness during uneasy times after the 2nd World War.

Rezo Gabriadze was born in the town of Kutaisi in what was then Soviet Georgia. He grew up surrounded by literature and fine art. As he matured creatively, his attention was drawn to film. He went on to write over 35 screenplays, including the Soviet film classics: “Don’t Grieve”, “Mimino”, and “Kin-Dza-Dza”.
