Ambassador of Georgia Presented his Credentials to the President of Portugal
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Giorgi Mirtskhulava presented its credentials to the president of Portugal - Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on July 20th.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after finishing the ceremony, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Georgia and the president of Portugal. They discussed the matters of positive dynamics of bilateral relations between Georgia and the Portuguese Republic, which marked out the possible perspectives of deepening cooperation in various fields. The importance of inter-parliamentary relations was also highlighted.
The Ambassador of Georgia thanked the president of Portugal for his support in sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, both in bilateral and multilateral formats. The President reaffirmed Portugal's support for Georgia, welcomed the appointment of a new ambassador, and wished him success.
They expressed their wish on the meeting, that in the near future it will be possible to see translations of prominent monuments of world literary history, The Knight in the Panther's Skin and Luciades. Teresa Ribeiro - Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and Foreign Affairs of Portuguese Republic also attended the meeting.
