Alexandre Koberidze's Feature to Have a World Premiere at Berlinale

After 30 years since Georgian director Temur Babluani last competed for the principal award at the Berlin International Film Festival with his film "The Sun of the Sleepless", Alexandre Koberidze will see the world premiere of his feature "What Do We See When We Look at the Sky?" in June.

Due to the pandemic, the 71st Berlin International Film Festival will not be held in its traditional format. On March 1-5th, Industry Event will be held, which will be a virtual market for European films, and on June 9-20th, within the framework of Summer Special, films chosen by the festival will be screened. Koberidze's German-Georgian co-production will also have its world alongside the directors including Hong Sangsoo, Dénes Nagy, and Daniel Brühl.

The film features Georgian actors Ani Karseladze, Giorgi Bochorishvili, and Vakhtang Fanchulidze, and the main story follows romantic partners who wake up one day with changed appearances and lose contact with each other as a result.

This year's festival will also screen Georgian director Salome Jashi's new documentary Taming the Garden.
