ADB Allocated EUR 400 Thousand to Georgia to Purchase PCR Tests
The Development Bank of Asia has allocated a grant of 400,000 euros to Georgia to fight against Covid-19. According to the bank, the grant will help fight against Georgia's Covid-19 and will allow the country to purchase medical equipment.
The grant will be used by the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia to purchase the latest equipment for PCR testing.
"Grant allocated in the framework of ongoing technical assistance: regional support for the prevention of the spread of coronavirus disease and the cessation of possible spread of other transmittable diseases.
Medical equipment and software and technical equipment will significantly increase the country's ability to quickly test for the virus, and will also significantly reduce the burden on medical staff at the Lugar Center (National Center for Disease Control and Public Health), where more than 70% of all PCR tests are performed,'' - reads the information spread by ADB.
