Active Life is My Passion - Socar Continues to Support Persons with Disabilities
Socar continues to support the project "Active Life is My Passion" for persons with disabilities.
On this occasion, Tbilisi Sea Club hosted veterans and military servicemen wounded and injured in warfares and several international missions.
Youth Media Connection, together with Sailor's Union of Tbilisi held an inclusive regatta for the first time in the region.
The participants were instructed by professional sailors. 16 people participated, of which 4 winners were revealed. They were awarded diplomas and medals.
A few days later, an inclusive cycling marathon was held organized by Youth Media Connection on the territory of Lisi Lake. One of the organizers was "Achilles".
The activity was implemented within the framework of the project "Active Life is My Passion" and was dedicated to establishing international organization "Achilles" in Georgia and popularizing this type of Parasport. It is also worth mentioning, that Para-Cycling Federation was created by military servicemen and while participating in inclusive cycling marathon, professional and dilletante cyclists joined them.
The project aims to increase the motivation of veterans and military servicemen to remain in active life and present their abilities in the different types of sport.
It's been 2 years already since Socar, along with Europebet supports the project "Active Life is My Passion". More than 500 persons with disabilities, injured military servicemen and veterans participate in the project annually.
The project "Active Life is My Passion" promotes the implementation of the 30th article of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The project aims to encourage the enactment of the convention on the scale of Georgia and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of the human rights of persons with disabilities.
