159 Fitness Centers and 82 Swimming Pools Granted Permission to Open

"284 fitness centers have been inspected, of which 159 have met the requirements, as well as 125 pools have been inspected and 82 were allowed to open," said Beka Peradze.

As of August 3, 159 fitness centers and 82 pools were licensed to operate. As Beka Peradze, the head of the Labor Inspection Department, told InterpressNews, the facilities are being inspected for compliance with the recommendations approved by the Ministry of Health regarding coronavirus, which is a precondition for granting them the right to operate.

For reference, according to the protocol developed by the Ministry of Health, staff and consumers will undergo thermoscreening before entering sports and health facilities. However, a 2-meter distance between the fitness meachines is required and the use of shared showers is not allowed unless the shower cabins are isolated from each other.

In addition, wearing masks in common areas other than exercise areas is mandatory.
