Zholovani Expects to Harvest up to 5,000-10,000 Kilograms of Raspberries This Year

Three years ago, a young couple who moved from Tbilisi to the village of Rachisubani in Lagodekhi Municipality started harvesting raspberries, plum orchards, vineyards, and strawberries on 1 hectare of land. 

Currently, they are focused on raspberries, and this is the reason their farm is also referred to as "Zholovani".

"We think, that raspberries are the best crop in terms of quantity and yield. Currently, we have three varieties of raspberries, "Carolina", "Josephine", and "Diamond". Their transportation is not problematic, whereas they maintain the market price and are distinctive with their taste qualities. We are waiting for up to 5,000-10,000 kilograms of raspberries, which we will sell in different regions of the country."

Young startupers are planning to organize tours, build eco-cottages and become more active in the field of tourism.

They also plan to start producing pitcher wine from their own vineyards.
