Winners of the Corporate Responsibility Award 2022 Announced

Corporate Responsibility Award 2022 – Business for SDGs, presented by the Global Compact Network Georgia, has been delivered to the winners.  Ceremony was held for the 5th time, on October 20, in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Annual Award aims to recognize progressive, modern value-based companies, that operate based on the high standards, work towards sustainable development and bring long-term benefits to the company and the society. It`s the only competition where categories are based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The winners were announced in the following nominations:

Also for outstanding efforts to champion SDGs special nomination of Global Compact Network Georgia was awarded to Nino Kvernadze, Executive Director at Adjara Group Hotels.

Winners were awarded by the The Ambassador of the United States, H.E. Ms. Kelly Degnan,  Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Mr. Ulrik Tideström, Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, H.E. Mr. Akira Imamura,  Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Mr. Stefan Sirbu, EBRD Regional Director for the Caucasus, Ms. Catarina Bjorlin Hansen, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine, Mr. Oleksandr Shulha and the Adviser of President of National Bank of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Bakradze.

This year media representatives were awarded in the nomination Media for Responsible Business in Georgia (Best TV report  - Mariam Vachnadze  and Best digital article – Aleksandre Gvindadze).

 “The fifth Corporate Responsibility Award ceremony was successfully held on October 20, with the maximum number of applications received from the business sector. Compared to previous years, there is an increase in the number of applications.

Representatives of small and medium-sized enterprise have won two nominations. This is important. It becomes clearer for business that a company of any size, no matter what resources it has, the main thing is to use those resources correctly to maximize its operations, on the one hand, and also, on the other hand, contribute to the development of society and the environment. We intend to continue the competition next year and will start accepting applications in the spring."- says Salome Zurabishvili, Executive Director of Global Compact Network Georgia. 

Salome Zurabishvili underlines the role of the media in raising awareness about Corporate Responsibility.

"Media has an important role in raising public awareness and economic growth, including by stimulating responsible approaches to business"- says the Executive Director of Global Compact Network Georgia.

The award enables companies to gain recognition among their peers as leaders in corporate sustainability; Increase their credibility and reputation among consumers, partners and investors and influence Corporate Responsibility development in Georgia through sharing best practices.
