Walnuts.ge to Arrange Almond Gardens in 2-3 Years

Farming Company Walnuts.ge plans to arrange almond gardens, after walnuts garden. As the company executive director David Bukhnikashvili told Business Partner, this project will be implemented in 2-3 years.

“We have already started testing of almond varieties. We select species due to the climate peculiarities and supervise the growing process”, David Bukhnikashvili said. Walnuts.ge has already arranged walnut gardens in the village of Giorgitsminda, Sagarejo District, Kakheti Region. In January 2021, the company will expand the existing space of the garden to 150 hectares.

The company employs 20 persons on a constant basis, but on the season, 30-40 local residents are hired from the neighboring villages, David Bukhnikashvili noted. The walnuts garden project is implemented together with German and Australian partners. The total value of the project is to GEL 12 million. The company is expected to reap first profits from the project in 7 years, David Bukhnikashvili said.
