UNDP and Bitfury Group Plan to Collaborate
United Nations Development Programme and the company of technologies, Bitfury Group plan to collaborate. The main aim of the collaboration is to renew and fill forest cover in Kazakhstan. This information is published in the official web-page of UNDP.
Within the framework of Biodiversity finance initiative (BIOFIN), UNDP and Bitfury Group will work on increasing forest surface, and also will try to bring awareness to climate changes.
The Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) is a UNDP-managed global partnership that supports countries to enhance their financial management for biodiversity and ecosystems.
"We hope, that our collaboration with the private sector will help Kazakhstan to reduce the level of carbon in the country.", declared UNDP permanent representative in Kazakhstan, Yakup Beris.
"We fully support UNDP in the field of steady development. The company is ready to participate in neutralizing waste with increasing green cover.", stated co-founder of Bitfury, Valerii Vavilov.
It is also worth mentioning, that at this moment 29 million ha forest is presented in Kazakhstan. But the big part of the forest is in the danger because of the fire outbreaks and illegal land-tenure.
