Twenty-four Agriculture Markets of 80 Ones Continue Operation
At this stage, 24 agricultural markets of 80 ones have resumed operation in Georgia, the National Food Agency of Georgia reports.
Agricultural markets are resuming operation in stages so as all recommendations be secured and due monitoring be implemented over their implementation, the Agency officials noted.
“Agricultural markets are resuming operation all over the country in stages. Together with the local self-governments, the National Food Agency carries out a monitoring on how safety norms and recommendations are protected. At this stage (as for April 30), 24 agricultural markets operate: 3 ones in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region (1 in Zugdidi and 2 ones in Poti), Samtskhe-Javakheti Region (1 market in Akhalkalaki), Adjara Region – 3 agricultural markets in Batumi, Kvemo Karlti Region – 1 agricultural market in Marneuli, Tbilisi – 3 agricultural markets, Imereti Region – 7 agricultural markets (2 in Kutaisi, Zestaponi, Khoni, Samtredia, Sachkhere, Chiatura), Kakheti Region – 4 agricultural markets (Telavi, Tsnori, Lagodekhi -2), Shida Kartli Region (1 market in Gori), Guria region – 1 market in Lanchkhuti.
Besides the mentioned facilities, other agricultural markets have also applied to resume operation and we are carrying out a due monitoring. The National Food Agency constantly cooperate with the market administrations and issues recommendations”, the Agency officials noted.
