The City Hall No Longer Takes a Loan to Buy 200 Units of 18-meter Buses - The Purchase will be Made with Budgetary Funds

Tbilisi City Hall will purchase 200 18-meter buses with budget funds.

According to Kakha Kaladze, the purchase of this type of bus will no longer take place with a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

"It is important to bring additional buses, in particular, buy 200 units of 18-meter buses.

We had negotiations with both the bank and the central government - the Ministry of Finance, and we made a decision to buy the mentioned buses and the bus depot that will serve these buses with budgetary funds and not take a loan.

Therefore, we officially applied to the Ministry of Finance, and requested to remove the buses and bus depot component from this loan agreement, and the implementation of the project will be financed from the budget. The services of the City Hall, especially the Tbilisi Transport Company, are working on this. In the nearest period, the purchase will begin, which provides for the import of 200 units of 18-meter buses in 2023-2024."
