Tech Park of the Innovation and Technology Opens in Gurjaani

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava, together with the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze, opened a new Tech Park of the Innovation and Technology Agency in Gurjaani.

The event was also attended by Avtandil Kasradze, Head of the Innovation and Technology Agency, and Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The project was implemented with the financial support of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the World Bank.

As Natia Turnava noted at the opening of the Tech Park, Gurjaani Tech Park will serve not only local but also young people from the region who want to acquire new knowledge in the field of innovation and technology and want to become more competitive in this area.

"Our government pays a lot of attention to education and spends a lot of resources on education. A separate area that we especially focus on is innovation and technology, IT development, computer programming, startups.

Recently the government made a decision and granted the status of an international company to IT companies, which means tax benefits. As a result, large IT companies are already moving to Georgia, which will employ our talented and creative citizens. So, opening such tech parks throughout Georgia is very important, it is a new center of knowledge and a place for innovative education for young people, "- said Natia Turnava.

Gurjaani Tech Park has a universal laboratory of industrial innovations equipped with the latest equipment (Fablab). A laboratory space staffed with highly qualified specialists will help interested parties in modeling and prototyping.

The Tech Park combines a training center, a common workspace for startups freelancers, where it is possible to get a job with certain conditions to develop your idea or startup. The space is equipped with all the conditions that contribute to startup development.
