Silk Hospitality Expands its Portfolio with Utsera Resort

The International Standard Utsera Resort Hotel in the Racha Region Opens under the Radisson Individuals Brand

The international standard Utsera Resort hotel in the Racha region will open under the Radisson Individuals brand. The project is a part of the continuing cooperation between Silk Hospitality and Radisson Group. Under the third-party management agreement finalized on 25 August, Silk Hospitality will manage the 85-room multi-seasonal Utsera Resort hotel complex. Incidentally, Utsera Resort is going to be the very first Radisson Individuals brand hotel.

The mid- and high-end market Utsera Resort will provide the multi-seasonal health & spa services.

Located on the bank of the Rioni River in the Racha region, Utsera offers over 28 spring mineral waters unique for their therapeutic properties. The hotel complex is in a park of amazing beauty, which stands out for its 900 year-old linden trees recorded in the Red Book.

The three-storey wellness and spa centre of Utsera Resort will house 25m closed and open air swimming pools, jacuzzi, the wet and dry saunas, a steam room and a 500 m2 gym. At the centre, you will be offered various medical examinations, medicinal baths, massage therapies, detox and wellness programmes.

Apart from a comprehensive SPA service, what Utsera Resort gives a competitive edge are healthy food, hiking to the sites of spectacular beauty of Racha, cultural, adventure, gastronomical and wine tours, rafting, horse riding etc.

The over 20 M Gel investment project supported by TBC Bank and “Enterprise Georgia” program holds promise of over 100 new jobs predominantly for the locals.

Gia Saganelidze, founder of the Utsera Resort: “I am glad that an international standard high class hotel is going to open in a beautiful Utsera resort (Racha region) known for its unique mineral waters, age-old trees and diverse flora. Apart from tourism promotion, the project will create new jobs, increase the investors’ interest to the region and strengthen the local economy. I am thrilled that I will be able to turn my vision into reality with such experienced partners as the Radisson Hotel Group and Silk Hospitality. The hotel complex is going to be fully operational from 2024. “

The Utsera Resort is the latest instance of collaboration between Silk Hospitality and the Radisson Hotel Group. Earlier the two companies successfully carried out three projects: Tsinandali Radisson Collection Hotel, the Radisson Blu Batumi and the Radisson Blu Iveria in Tbilisi.

George Ramishvili, Chairman of Silk Road Group, said: “This project marks another step towards Georgia fulfilling its vast potential as a high-quality tourism destination. Silk Hospitality, together with its partners, is driving growth within Georgia’s hotel and restaurant sector and continues to play an essential role in supporting the economy through job opportunities and tourism revenue.”

David Jenkins, Senior Vice President Business Development Radisson Hotel Group, said: “It is a pleasure to be working with Silk Hospitality on yet another exceptional project. This resort provides the perfect example of our new Radisson Individuals brand, allowing independent hotels to maintain and promote their uniqueness while enjoying the benefits of being part of the Radisson Hotel Group family.”

Jordi Kuijt, CEO Silk Hospitality, said: “This project is a credit to the success of Silk Hospitality’s existing hotels and resorts. That we are entrusted with this project highlights the great level of confidence of the owner and Radisson Hotel Group in Silk Hospitality, not only as the broker of the license agreement, but as the company that will manage the resort. We look forward to working with Mr Saganelidze and the Radisson Individuals brand in realising it. As with all other properties in our portfolio, we are confident that this resort will be of the highest quality and provide an experience second to none in Georgia.”
