Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel Embraces Sustainability with Solar Panel Installation

In a progressive and eco-friendly move, solar panels have been installed at the Radisson Blu Iveria hotel in Tbilisi, demonstrating the brand's commitment to positive change and environmental responsibility. By prioritizing energy efficiency, the company emphasizes its dedication to eco-friendly practices.

Solar panels offer an optimal means of saving energy and utilizing alternative resources effectively. The result is reduced material costs and minimized harmful effects on the environment.

Silk Hospitality, a leading company in Georgia's hospitality industry and part of the Silk Road Group, has consistently prioritized environmental care throughout its 20-year history. As a partner of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Silk Hospitality adheres to global standards for sustainable development, ensuring its solutions align with worldwide service and environmental care benchmarks.

Giorgi Ramishvili, founder of the Silk Road Group, emphasizes the importance of sustainable development in their business vision: "Silk Hospitality is a clear example of our understanding of our role in society's economic development and caring for people's well-being, all while considering the interests of environmental protection." Their upcoming project, Hotel "Telegraph," will embody the concept of an energy-efficient green hotel, aiming to meet the LEED Gold standards – a first for the region.

Jordi Kuijt, CEO of Silk Hospitality, highlights the significance of using solar panels in the hospitality industry, where considerable electrical and thermal energy consumption is common: "By using solar panels, we can significantly reduce our impact on the environment without compromising the hotel's operation."

The 89-kilowatt solar power plant installed on the lower roof of the Radisson Blu Iveria hotel will reduce the hotel's electricity consumption from external sources. Kuiti is proud that Silk Hospitality is among the pioneering companies in Georgia to use renewable solar energy, with future hotel constructions planned with energy efficiency and environmental care in mind.
