Over 500 Residents of Svaneti Region Quarantined
As instructed by the Government’s Coordination Board, the National Tourism Administration has arranged quarantine zones at 20 hotels in Mestia Municipality, after 17 new infection cases were exposed in the Municipality on August 10.
About 520 persons have been quarantined, including 343 persons were delivered to Mestia-based hotels, and 171 ones were transported to Adjara-based quarantine zones, the National Tourism Administration reports.
The Administration has mobilized transport for organized accommodation of citizens. Based on the corresponding protocol, citizens with their own transport were also assisted and under the organized supervision they were directed to the quarantine zones in other regions.
“The Interior Ministry units stay on duty for 24 hours at the village of Barja, Mestia Municipality. By proving maximum protection measures, the Police have escorted citizens to quarantine zones in Tbilisi and Batumi.
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Governor’s Office and Mestia City Hall have actively engaged in all the mentioned arrangements.
The National Tourism Administration is ready to open new quarantine zones in Svaneti and nearby Regions if necessary.
Mestia-based hotels comprise 340 suites, of which 1568 remain free.
