Natia Turnava to Discuss Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project With K-water

Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project comprises construction of Nenskra Hydropower Plant (HPP) – the largest strategic hydropower plant in the history of independent Georgia.


The project is to be developed by JSC Nenskra Hydro, founded in 2015 as an outcome of cooperation between K-Water, Korea Water Resource Corporation (investor), and JSC Partnership Fund.

Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project matters were discussed at the meeting in the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development with Minister Natia Turnava and President of AWC & CEO of K-water Hak-soo Lee. 

According to the information provided by Ministry of Economy, at the meeting, parties have marked out the significance of Nenskra project in Georgia. Therefore, they pointed out the progress, which is achieved with local inhabitants with the effort of Korea Water Resources Corporation. With this, they noticed the benefit, which will be brought out by implementing the project.  

As Natia Turnava declared, at the meeting, Georgian party addressed a request to Korean investor, which included continuing trainings and educational programs in the future for locals. She also has mentioned, that supported by Georgia's embassy and K-water, social program might be implemented in Korean Republic. Within the framework of this program, locals situated in Chuberi and Nakra will have an opportunity to visit Republic of Korea, become acquainted with the culture, tourism and business sphere. 

Hak-soo Lee expressed readiness to strengthen future collaboration and enlarge it.
