Mevlud Meladze Started Construction of Multifinctional Sports Complex LILO ARENA
Construction of a multifunctional sports complex "Lilo Arena" has started in Lilo. The author of the project is Mevlud Meladze, multiple champion of various races and vice-president of the Georgian Automobile Federation.
Tbilisi City Hall has allocated more than 9 hectares for the construction of the complex. The aim of the project is to organize motor training and move street racing to a safe, organized space.
In the first stage, ground works are underway, where the relevant racing track will be drawn. Along with the racing track, an off-road track, a children's off-road zone, a simulated motor city and a corresponding parking zone will be located in the area.
The cost of the project is $ 5 million, its implementation should be completed in 5 years, but before that, by the spring of next year, the racing track will be ready for international competitions.
Mevlud Meladze says that the European Championship for 2023 will be held at Lilo Arena.
The complex that combines amateur and professional motorsport has no analogues around the world. As for the race track itself, the area is staffed in such a way that the best fragments are transported from various international tracks. Unlike Rustavi International Autodrome, the space, along with the professional one, includes a training direction.
From next year, the project will be able to host the World and European Championships. At the same time, motorsport lovers, for whom there are no appropriate spaces in the country, will have the opportunity to take their passion to the safe space.
''The interest in "Lilo Arena" is great internationally. "One of them is the owners of the European Drift Masters Championship, who have expressed a desire to invest in the project and the relevant negotiations are underway," - explains Mevlud Meladze.
