Metekhi Ceramics to Produce 15 Million Bricks in 2022
Located in Kaspi, Shida Kartli Region, Metekhi Ceramics plans to produce 15 million bricks in 2022.
As noted by the company director David Kakabadze, as a result of the reconstruction projects that started in 2015 as part of the Enterprise Georgia state program, the company has introduced mass production of ceramic blocks, improved the production quality, and scaled up output.
After the reconstruction works were finished in 2019, the enterprise has introduced 25 new products. Since 2015, the company has increased the output by 50%-60% and the total output constituted 10 million bricks. At the same time, the enterprise plans to produce 15 million bricks in 2022 amid the growing market demand, he said. Total investments in the reconstruction project amounted to GEL 3 million. The company’s bank credits interest was financed by approximately GEL 403,000. At this stage, the enterprise employs 150 persons.
The company also plans to bold a solar power station to cut electricity bills. The project is an estimated GEL l2.5 million and Enterprise Georgia will finance the program by GEL 2.1 million. Installation of solar power panels will start in October 2021.
