Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between UN Global Compact Network Georgia and Business Association of Georgia.
The memorandum was signed by Salome Zurabishvili, Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Georgia, and Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.
The document aims to deepen the strategic partnership between the parties, encourage the establishment of corporate sustainability standards in the association's member companies and cooperation between the parties in the direction of promoting the achievement of sustainable development goals.
UN Global Compact Network Georgia and the Business Association of Georgia, within the framework of their responsibilities, will work to implement mutually beneficial corporate sustainability promotion activities and develop support mechanisms.
In addition, the UN Global Compact Georgia Network and the Business Association of Georgia will cooperate in the format of different sectoral working groups, including in the law-making part - namely, in the direction of introducing environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.
UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, with more than 22 000 participants in more than 170 countries. It promotes a sustainable and inclusive global economy for society and the marketplace.
UN Global Compact Network Georgia is a non-commercial legal entity established in Georgia that works closely with the United Nations Global Compact Office (GCO) through a signed agreement to advance the UN Global Compact and its principles at the country level, helping to root the initiative within different national, cultural and language contexts and managing groups of UN Global Compact Participants in a specific country.
