Me and Elvis - Modern Look of 50s Furniture

The brand created by Tea Makatsaria and her husband - Me and Elvis - restores old furniture from the 50s and gives it a modern look.

Already damaged and obsolete furniture is transformed into modern reality with changed colors and appearance, however, its original character and geometric shapes, due to the brand concept, still remain authentic. The founders of Me and Elvis are Tea Makatsaria and her husband - Elvis, who talked to Hammock Magazine about their brand and their unique furniture.

''Me - that is, Tea Makatsaria, Elvis is my longtime friend, husband and business partner. Together we are Me and Elvis. It all started a long time ago, when I first started designing the interior design of my own house, then orders appeared in this direction as well. In 2014, together with two friends, I founded the furniture workshop Baum, which has existed for 4 years and during this time has left many interesting projects and items.

Elvis has worked for many years on the restoration of motorcycles. In 2018, we decided to create a new line together and that’s how Me and Elvis emerged. The furniture we work on is made in Eastern European countries in the 50s. Such furniture is almost exhausted from its original form. We find the damaged condition, restore it, revive it, change the color and appearance, while maintaining authentic unique shapes, line geometry and character. Finally, when you look and consume, you realize that this solid and durable furniture made from natural materials is something you have seen before, but it has changed and adapted to the present. This is why it builds trust.

We do not make furniture in series, each item is unique and it takes a lot of time and resources to make it.

In the future, we plan a complete functional transformation of the furniture, which will make the work process even more interesting. Our furniture is currently available on the Me and Elvis Facebook page, where customers can buy it.
