Le Meridien Sioni Lake Resort & SPA Set to Open in 2026

Tianeti is poised to welcome its first international brand hotel complex near Lake Sion, introducing a new era of hospitality to the region. Hotel Property Management Co. (HPM) disclosed to Business Partner that a multi-million dollar investment is underway to construct the expansive resort on a 15-hectare plot adjacent to Sion Reservoir, located 60 km from Tbilisi and at an elevation of 1,086 meters.

The project will feature the Le Meridien Sioni Lake Resort & SPA by Marriott, which includes 126 hotel rooms, a 410-room hotel-style residential complex, and 25 private villas. The comprehensive complex will boast a range of amenities such as sports centers, tennis and basketball courts, recreational areas, both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, playgrounds, conference halls, a spa center, restaurants, and bar-lounges. Additionally, water sports attractions and an aqua park will be established to enrich guest experiences.

HPM anticipates welcoming the first guests by the end of 2026. The architectural design of the complex is the work of Chapman Taylor’s Madrid Studio, while the interior design is being handled by the British firm De Salles Flint. The project sees collaboration between international and Georgian companies, illustrating a significant partnership across borders.

To date, the company has invested over 1.5 million GEL, with a total investment commitment budget surpassing 100 million GEL. Construction activities are currently in full swing, employing about 80 local residents, with expectations to increase the workforce to 250 as development progresses. Upon completion, the complex is expected to offer permanent positions to 200 individuals.

The project has already had a positive impact on the local economy, significantly increasing the market value of real estate in the area. This development is expected to catalyze additional economic activities and foster the creation of new tourist routes in the Mtskheta-Tianeti region, promising further income opportunities for the local community.
