Over the course of January to July 2023, the Wounded Warrior Support Foundation (WWSF), established by Silknet, has been actively providing financial assistance to wounded veterans, military servicemen, as well as their underaged children and spouses.

A total of 36 different cases were financed, encompassing urgent surgeries both in Georgia and abroad, medical treatments, provision of medicines, and learning programs for professional re-skilling. The total expenditure for this support amounted to 181,973.74 GEL.

WWSF collaborates with various international charitable foundations and organizations. A significant milestone for the foundation is its partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation (IGF). Thanks to a grant from IGF, WWSF purchased 10 seated basketball chairs for Georgia's wounded warrior team, which operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. Silknet provided transportation for these chairs. The chairs will be granted to Georgia's wounded warrior team, who are preparing for the upcoming Invictus Games in Duesseldorf scheduled for September. The provision of these modern seated basketball chairs will enhance their training and enable them to compete effectively with other strong teams worldwide in various sports. WWSF takes pride in being a part of this important initiative.

Apart from this, Wounded Warrior Support Foundation is also actively working towards women's economic empowerment. According to the foundation's criteria, the spouses of wounded warriors also receive support. In addition to addressing health issues, the fund focuses on financing professional re-skilling through various training and learning courses. This initiative aims to provide female beneficiaries of the fund with opportunities for employment and acquiring new professions. WWSF collaborates with UN Women in planning women's economic empowerment initiatives.

WWSF continues to operate at full speed and maintains cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and The State Service of Veterans Affairs. The foundation receives support from numerous companies and individuals. Anyone can contribute and volunteer to join WWSF by making donations through the webpage or using the charity number 0 091 777 771. By dialing this number, subscribers of Silknet's mobile network can contribute 1 GEL to the fund's account. The charity number is also active for customers of other mobile networks.

The Foundation was established in 2018 by Silknet. The company donates 300,000 GEL annually to the fund. Apart from that, it attracts more donors each year and assists injured soldiers with the allocated resources. The Foundation's donations come from various Georgian and foreign companies, as well as private individuals, and from the state budget. The ultimate goal of the Wounded Warrior Support Foundation is to expand its activities on a larger scale, bringing together the efforts of businesses, society, and the government in supporting wounded veterans and military servicemen.
