Investors from 10 Countries Interested in the Imereti Agrozone Development Project

Georgia has received 27 proposals from 10 countries for the Imereti Agrozone Greenhouse Cluster Development Project. Negotiations with potential investors will take place in February and March, after which contracts will be signed.

As the director of Imereti Agrozone, Archil Bukia, explains at Business Partner, most of the proposals were received from the Netherlands. The interest is related to the construction of greenhouses in medium and high-tech zones.

"We also received offers from Israel, Italy, Germany, France, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and other countries. We have a demand for about 18 hectares of land to build different types of greenhouses. There is a lot of interest in the training-demonstration center and it will be our priority. There is also interest in the development of a logistics center. Presumably, all the proposals will be satisfied," Bukia said.

The investor must implement the investment plan within 2 years. The price of 1 hectare of land in low-tech zones is 330 000 GEL, and in high-tech zones is about 780 000 GEL.
