Innovation and Technology Camp Opened in Batumi

With the organization and support of the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency, within the framework of the World Bank's "National Innovation Ecosystem" project, Ilia State University is conducting an innovation and technology camp on the basis of the Georgian-American School in Batumi.

75 students from different public schools selected by competition from all over Georgia participate in the camp (Tbilisi - 30, Kakheti - 20, Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Tianeti - 10, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 20, Adjara - 20, Samtskhe Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli - 10, Imereti - 20, Guria - 10, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 10), who were selected based on their experience and motivation in the STEM direction. More than 2000 students expressed their desire to participate. Within the framework of the project, they were fully funded for the expenses related to their participation in the camp.

During eight days, the participants will get acquainted with current issues of natural and technical sciences and get basic knowledge in technology and entrepreneurship, which will further help them to choose a career in the STEM direction.

During 8 days students:

  • will work on Arduino and programming;
  • will listen to popular scientific lectures on artificial intelligence, robotics, as well as biochemistry and astrophysics;
  • will learn about entrepreneurial and startup approaches in modern technologies;
  • will conduct fun scientific experiments;
  • will participate in various engineering competitions.
