GITA Signs Grant Agreement of GEL 650,000 with Georgian Wine Tea Production Company

The Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) has signed a grant agreement of GEL 650,000 with a Georgian wine tea manufacturing company that has won the second phase of the grant program.

Wine Tea is a new product in wasteless wine production through high-technology recycling of Saperavi grapes wastes. The alcohol-free product comprises all useful properties, antioxidants, and energetic qualities. It is used as a hot drink and for making cold nonalcoholic cocktails. By introducing innovative technologies in the wasteless industry, the company aims to manufacture non-GMO, healthy products that will popularize Georgia worldwide.

GITA launched the 650,000-GEL grant program with the support of the World Bank (WB) on May 22, 2019, with the aim to stimulate innovative production in Georgia and involve innovative technologies in the domestic economy.

Thanks to the program, Georgian micro, small and medium companies with the potential of developing innovative solutions will position their innovations on the global market. The program funds products of global importance, technological or business process innovations associated with Georgia.
