GEPHERRINI Expands Globally, Launching Stores in Korea and Opening a Second Outlet in China

Georgian brand GEPHERRINI is charting new territories in the global market, with the recent opening of a store in China and plans to launch in Korea come March, revealed founder Ilia Gepheridze in a conversation with Business Partner.

GEPHERRINI's venture into the Chinese market started on the island of Sanya, a hotspot for affluent tourists. With high expectations pinned on this market, Gepheridze confirmed that a second store in China is on the horizon, with contracts already in place.

"Our Chinese debut in Sanya has been promising, and we're excited to expand our presence there," Gepheridze said. "Simultaneously, we're setting our sights on new markets. Following our success in China, Korea is next on our list. Discussions with potential partners are underway as we aim to broaden our global footprint and boost sales. 2024 is poised for significant developments, including our contract signing and launch on Tmall, as well as intensified efforts on digital platforms."

Currently, GEPHERRINI employs about 7-8 people in its Chinese store, with a similar team size projected for the upcoming Korean outlet. The company's workforce totals over 70 employees globally.

While the investment specifics for the new store openings remain undisclosed, Gepheridze shared that GEPHERRINI is gearing up for substantial purchases and marketing efforts. "We're planning a $250,000 investment in raw materials for Tmall and earmarking $150,000 for our global market marketing strategies," he elaborated.

GEPHERRINI, known for its exquisite range of bags, wallets, shoes, and accessories, has successfully exported to 13 countries. The upcoming year will see the brand's entry into the Italian and Bangladeshi markets, marking yet another stride in its international expansion.
