French Coffee Brand Malongo Enters Georgia with Investments of EUR 1 Million

French coffee brand Malongo has entered Georgia. The company plans to invest over EUR 1 million in network development.

The company has already opened its first facility on Abashidze Street in Tbilisi. As a result of 2-year negotiations, Ile-De-France company has obtained a 10-year franchise right. Together with French coffee, Malongo facility visitors will also taste confectionaries, tea, and wines. Similar cafes were not characteristic of the Malongo brand. Therefore, the Georgian company has launched a new concept in the history of this French brand. “We decided to introduce French boulangerie and gastronomy in this space. As a result, we receiveდ four business directions in one space and this format was strange for our French partners. Initially, certain problems arose, but in the end, we reached an agreement and now they also plan to move to the same format in Miami and New York branches”, Ile-De-France supervisory board chairman Temur Kurkhuli said.

“Georgian and French peoples have identical tastes in culinary. Both nations love to share pleasant moments. Therefore, we believe that there are good preconditions for the brand development in Georgia”, Malongo export manager Andy Rodriguez noted. Malongo Cafe in Georgia opened on June 28.

The multifunctional facility employs approximately 60 persons. Under the contract agreement, Ile-De-France must open 10 other facilities in Georgia, including in Tbilisi and Batumi.
