Founder of Mao Flowers: There is a Shortage of Professional Florists in Georgia
Flower shop Mao Flowers is looking for staff. Makuna Gabunia, the founder of the company, while visiting the "Women's Narrative" program, noted that they have been searching for a professional florist for four months without success.
"We are now thinking of training and retraining staff because this market demands it," she says.
According to the founder, Mao Flowers was the first flower shop that offered Georgian customers a bouquet in gift boxes.
"Before us, there was no practice of packing flowers in boxes in Tbilisi. Many stores are doing this now. Our first product - red roses in a black box - is still the best seller," said Makuna Gabunia in the "Women's Narrative" program.
As for the history of the brand, its founders started their business with an investment of 500 GEL, and today the store occupies one of the leading positions in the market and often receives corporate orders.
"Our main niche is being first and customer relations. As a result, we have a huge army of loyal customers.
I always wanted to do something new. I shared the idea with my closest friend and she also agreed and we started working on this work together. I have a great desire to share this experience with girls of my age and tell them: Everything is achievable with hard work.
We rented a small room in Tbilisi and started building all this with our own hands, with a very small budget and great determination. We used to spend mornings and nights together, we also made orders, we were also the couriers", Makuna Gabunia recalls the first steps in business.
