Ekaterine Mikabadze to Attend Georgia and Azerbaijan Business Forum

The first chairman of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ekaterine Mikabadze participated in the business forum of Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Forum, which was organized by the business council of EU-Georgia, was also attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Georgia, Dursun Hasanov. Zohrab Gadirov - head of investments promotions of Azpromo, Head of Georgia's office of corporation BP - Ann Devis, General director of Socar Energy Georgia - Mahir Mamedov, Member of the Board of Directors, Chief Risk Officer at PASHA Bank in Georgia - Asaf Huseynov and representatives of Azerbaijan's and Georgia's business sector.

The forum was opened by Secretary-General of EU-Georgian EU - Georgia Business Council EUGBC, Zurab Chumburidze.

In the welcoming speech, the first chairman of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable development positively evaluated the development dynamics of Georgia's and Azerbaijan's economical collaboration. As he noted, collaborations of Georgia and Azerbaijan was developing in the regional section bilaterally. Ekaterine Mikabadze pointed out the progress in this field, such as trade, investments, regional collaboration in the infrastructural projects, such as railway, southern gas corridor, The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, etc.

The first chairman of minister also discussed the matters of economical tendencies in Georgia and noted, that implemented reforms in the country promoted liberalization of economy, increase of private sector competitiveness, encouragement of export, growth of availability on finances and establishing attractive investment and business sector. The government took efficacious steps towards economical policy, which was depicted on the index of the economy and reflected an improvement of international ratings. 

Ekaterine Mikabadze paid attention to the collaboration in the field of trade, tourism and investments. Specifically, Azerbaijan is one of the large trade partner of Georgia. As she said, in the top ten export countries, Azerbaijan is remained on the first place with 13% share. Nowadays, free trade regime is operated between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Ekaterine also marked out the impact of Azerbaijan on Georgian tourism sector and said, that 7% of incomes in tourism are provoked by Azerbaijan's visitors. 

In conclusion, first chairman of the minister wished participants of business forum beneficial collaboration and implementing successful projects in the future.
