Cube in Context - New Educational space to Open at Mziuri Former Cable Car Station

Cube in Context is a multi-disciplinary art space, which is located in the former Mziuri cable car station and creates a modern art gallery and common workspace.

The idea of creating such space belongs to the artists, Vasil Macharadze and Koka Vashakidze. The project started 10 years ago, developed together with film expert Anuka Lomidze, photographer Ana Goguadze and architect Tornike Abuladze.

The project aims to maintain the shape of the existing ropeway station in the Mziuri area and its new functional load; to integrate contemporary art into the public space and conduct a cultural dialogue between different groups; creating a working environment for artists and researchers working in the field of contemporary art, and emphasize the importance of the ecological condition of the country and make green spaces a place for work or cultural educational-cognitive projects.

After reconstruction, Cube in Context will function as a social enterprise. Within the framework of the project, the art gallery will be opened on the first floor, a common working space will be arranged on the second floor, and the area around Cube will be dedicated to cognitive-cultural activities.
