Cooperation Between TBC and National Library Enters a New Phase
A Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between TBC and the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, according to which it was granted the status of a friend of the TBC National Library. The memorandum was signed by TBC General Director Vakhtang Butskhrikidze and National Library Director Giorgi Kekelidze.
According to the memorandum, TBC and the National Library will cooperate on the issues of spreading education and popularization of cognition among young people and will implement joint projects in this direction.
"I am glad that our cooperation with the National Library is moving to a new stage. It is very important for us to contribute to the dissemination of education to the new generation. TBC is a company with high social responsibility and we are guided by this principle when we support future generations, ”said TBC General Director Vakhtang Butskhrikidze.
For the fourth year in a row, the National Library together with the e-book house "Saba" and TBC is holding a literary competition "Bookstore". The aim of the competition is to popularize book reading among schoolchildren. Cooperation between TBC and the National Library in this direction will continue this year.
The friendship between the National Library and TBC began in 2015, when an emigration hall was opened at the library with the support of TBC. Emigrant literature, personal archives, letters or photographs of hitherto unknown historical and scientific significance were brought to Georgia by the National Library with the help of TBC. In August 2020, with the support of TBC, the Museum of Georgian Emigration founded by the public-political figure, historian Guram Sharadze was opened in the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia.
