Chikatai to Expand Sales to Australia and Italy

The toy manufacturing company, Chikatai, plans to expand its reach by selling its products in Australia and Italy, according to the company's founder, Tamar Buiglishvili.

She stated that 550 units have already been prepared for export to Australia and that the company aims to increase production in 2023. Buiglishvili also mentioned that the company has received support from Enterprise Georgia and participated in the Pitti Immagine Bimbo 2023 international exhibition in Florence.

However, she also acknowledged the challenges the company faced in 2022, including difficulties in importing raw materials and increased fees. Buiglishvili added that the company has had to increase its product prices by 10-15% as a result.

Chikatai currently sells its products in local workshops and children's concept stores and has a current workforce of 5 people, plans to hire 6 more after expansion.
