Butrana Opens a New Farm in Kakheti
The company Butrana has recently opened a farm equipped with modern technologies in the village of Tibaani, Sighnaghi Municipality.
According to the founder of the company, Jemal Khatiashvili, a total amount of investment is 1 million GEL.
Butrana currently manufactures 20 types of cheese, and in the future, it is planned to increase the range to 30.
"We had planned to expand the assortment, however, due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the process was delayed. The reason is the reduced tourist flow and, consequently, reduced sales by 20%. Sales were mainly dependent on tourism. In particular, our customers were Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians."
The new farm covers an area of 10 hectares. In addition to cheese, the company produces pitcher wine and table grapes.
