Business Stuck amid Lockdown of Big Cities
Lockdown of big cities in the Easter period has generated major problems to businessmen.
“We could not serve orders and deliver products because of restrictions”, Rachuli Lori director Giorgi Jincharadze told BM and added that businessmen managed to create reserves in Tbilisi before the lockdown so as Tbilisi residents could buy food products without obstacles.
“We have spent much time on obtaining due permissions. We had real problems, we were trying to contact the hotline and the Economy Ministry and they were readdressing us to each other. Today we have learned that we are free to deliver products, restrictions were removed and we can resume operation”, Jinchardze noted.
He also discussed other difficulties and stressed that they used to supply products to tourists and restaurants. At the same time, restaurants refuse to pay for the products bought through consignments, he said.
“They complain that the pandemic has damaged everybody and they cannot process payments. Naturally, we understand their problems and we try not to stifle them and we will continue cooperation with them, but this situation cannot last for ever, because these sums are very important for our company”, Giorgi Jincharadze noted.
