Blueberries Cultivated in Vartsikhe Enter Export Markets

Blueberries cultivated in the village "Vartsikhe", Bagdati municipality, are planned to be exported. 

The company Agrolane has an enterprise equipped with modern technology, and its annual production is 300 tons.

The company has its own blueberries garden on 6 hectares of the territory. It cooperates with the local farmers owning blueberry plantations in the region of Imereti. As a result, its enterprise ensures fast cooling, sorting, and packaging of the products cultivated on 40 hectares.

The enterprise was established with the financial support of the state. More than 2 million GEL was invested in the enterprise, of which 419 397 GEL was a grant, 522 495 GEL was a preferential agro-credit.

Seasonally, 28 locals are employed on-site.
