"Agricultural Challenges Can Only Be Overcome with Innovative Approaches" - Frank Thiele, Bayer Regional Manager

Producing sufficient food for the population and protecting the environment are two of the main challenges facing agriculture today. Specialists in the field emphasize that these challenges can be addressed through modern approaches and innovative agricultural products.

"The world's population is growing, the land available for agriculture is decreasing, and producing sustainable food is becoming more difficult. This includes addressing climate change and the need for environmental protection. Therefore, it is essential for representatives in the field to have the right vision and understand that agricultural challenges can only be overcome with innovative approaches," says Frank Thiele, representative of Bayer's research and development department and regional manager.

Bayer has been creating innovative agricultural products for decades. The company produces herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, high-quality plant protection products, and seed materials for various agricultural crops. Additionally, Bayer focuses on the development of biodiversity-friendly agriculture, offering biofungicides, bioinsecticides, and pheromones to farmers alongside its main products.

"New generation, innovative products are distinguished by high efficiency. At the same time, they ensure the healthy growth and development of plants and are safe for human health and the environment. Therefore, if a farmer wants to have a successful farm and achieve an abundant and high-quality harvest, it is necessary to choose such products," says Frank Thiele.

To ensure that Bayer's products meet modern requirements, the company invests significant resources in research and substance testing.

"Bayer's team of scientists annually tests about 10,000 new substances in the laboratory. The process is long and consists of many steps. We check the effectiveness of their biological properties, their toxicity, and their impact on the environment and living beings. Only when any harmful effects are completely ruled out do we begin developing a formula that will be easy for users to use. This entire process takes about 10 years, meaning the work on the products available today started a decade ago. This involves high costs, with Bayer spending about 600 million euros to produce one product," says Frank Thiele.

Thanks to their high efficiency and safety, Bayer products are very popular in many countries, including Georgia. "Agrosphere," an importer of innovative agricultural products and agricultural equipment, has been representing Bayer in the Georgian market for 19 years. Among the most frequently used products in Georgia are Maister Power, Roundup Max, Voyago, Movento, Oberon Rapid, Sivanto Prime, Infinito, and others.
