10 New Fishing Vessels for Georgia's Water Area

Georgian water area will have 10 new fishing vessels, and the total investment exceeds 38 million GEL.

The first fishing vessel was built in Turkey financially assisted by Enterprise Georgia. Currently, it already operates. As for the second ship, it should be delivered to the entrepreneur in June. The ultimate goal of the changes is to upgrade the fleet, create new jobs, and receive more economic benefits from the local waters.

"We talked about the potential of economical benefits in our local water area for a long time. The agency is actively involved in this process. We already funded 10 ships, which means, that locals will be able to fish with their own fishing vessels. Finally, by the end of the year, we will see new Georgian-owned fishing vessels," noted Mikheil Khidureli, the agency's head.
