Value of Georgian Wine Exports Increased by 16%
According to the National Wine Agency, in the first nine months of 2019, in total 65.2 million bottles (0.75 liters) of wine were exported to the world’s 50 countries that is 10% more compared with the same period in 2018.
The Agency reports that the value of exports reaches $ 164 million, which is 16% more than in the same period of 2018.
Georgian wine exports to strategic markets increased, namely to the US – by 60% (533 206 bottles), UK - 40% (93 067 bottles), Poland - 18% (2 905 372 bottles) and China - 11% (5 334 939 bottles). Export growth dynamics are also observed in the following countries: Lithuania - 52% (503 832 bottles), Germany - 36% (476 145 bottles), Belarus - 35% (1 606 565 bottles), Israel - 88% (218 921 bottles), Estonia - 19% (499 736 bottles), Russia - 11% (41 112 235 bottles), Moldova - 5717% (411 812 bottles), Netherlands - 21% (73 078 bottles), Czech Republic 102% - (62 700 bottles), Sweden - 397% (55 506 bottles), Bulgaria - 51% (24 228 bottles), Australia - 15% (19 636 bottles), Canada - 2% (121 650 bottles), Mongolia - 13% (184 212 bottles)
The top ten exporting countries are Russia (41 112 235 bottles), Ukraine (6 766 841 bottles), China (5 334 939 bottles), Poland (2 905 372 bottles), Kazakhstan (2 477 358 bottles), Belarus (1 008 888 bottles). ), Latvia (988 122 bottles), USA (533 206 bottles), Lietua (503 832 bottles) and Estonia (499 736 bottles).
In 9 months wine export was carried out by 289 companies.
