Value of Georgian Exported Wine Exceeds 98 Million USD

In the first half of 2019, Georgia exported 40 million mln bottles (0.75 l) of wine to the world's 44 countries which is 6% more than in the same period of  2018.

The value of exported wine exceeds $ 98 million which is 9% more than in 2018.

According to the National Wine Agency,  exports have increased to  Georgian wine strategic markets: USA- by 88% (354 874 bottles), China - 19% (3 554 127) and Poland - 16% (1 821 802). 68% (146 892), Belarus - 32% (889 002), Israeli - 20% (131 184), Canada - 12% (12%), France - 120% (55 908), Lieutenant - 68% (315 306), Mongolia - (83 220), Germany - 11% (317 771), Estonia - 11% (326 966), Russia - 6%, (25 582 447), Moldova – by 18% (263 210).

The top five exporting countries are Russia (25 582 447), Ukraine (3 752 488), China (3 554 127), Poland (1 821 802) and Kazakhstan (1 656 318).

According to the 6 -month data, a total of 229 Georgian companies carried out wine exports abroad.

Apart from wine, 12,6 million bottles (0,5 l) of brandy were exported to  18 countries which is 50% more than in the same period of  2018. The revenue from brandy exports amounted to $ 27.4 million (a 62% growth). 238 thousand bottles (0,5 liters) of chacha were exported to 23 countries that is 34% more than last year while  revenue gained from chacha export reaches $ 633.2 thousand (a 20% growth).
